​Experienced Family Law Paralegal/Legal Assistant
PART- TO FULL-TIME OPPORTUNITY WITH
​BIER FAMILY LAW


Immediate part-time opening for high-performing Family Law Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join our fast-paced family law practice. This is a JOB SHARE beginning at 20-30 hours per week, WITH THE POTENTIAL OF BECOMING A FULL-TIME POSITION, provided that you meet or exceed the requirements set out below. PLEASE APPLY IF AND ONLY IF YOU MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
  • Three years’ minimum experience in Family Law as certificated Paralegal or Legal Assistant
  • Three or more years’ experience drafting pleadings, motions, responses, and legal correspondence.
  • Extensive knowledge of Family Law and the Portland, Oregon Tri-County family court system, Oregon Family Law State Statutes, Rules of Civil Procedure, Uniform Trial Court Rules, and Supplementary Local Court Rules.
  • Experience E-filing court documents, preparing Trial, Exhibit and Parenting Notebooks, running child support calculations
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, form and style; the ability to compose legal correspondence, proofread effectively, and pay meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and case and timeline management, including calendar docketing, such as Abacus
  • Proficient with Discovery methodology and tools, including Bates stamping
  • Ability to interface professionally with clients, court staff, opposing counsel, court experts, and witnesses
  • Demonstrated ability to perform as an organized, detail-oriented self-starter; staying focused, on task, and on top of one’s work load while meeting two supervising attorney timelines and other deadlines
  • Proven track record of upholding ethical standards in maintaining client confidentiality
  • Willingness to pitch in wherever needed, including filing and reception back-up
  • Reliability and personal integrity
