We have answers!
WHY DO YOU CHARGE FOR AN INITIAL CONSULTATION?
Our flat fee rate for an average 1.5 hour appointment entitles you to valuable advice from an attorney. At an initial consultation, once you explain the issues at stake, the attorney will provide you with an overview regarding your options and how long your case might take, as well as an approximate range as to how much it might cost overall to pursue your matter. You'll also get a sense of whether you think you might want our help in getting you to your goal. WHY SHOULD I HIRE AN ATTORNEY? CAN'T WE JUST DO THE DIVORCE OURSELVES? While you can do a divorce between yourselves, both parties risk losing much that may be rightfully theirs. Unless you know exactly what you're entitled to in a divorce, including real estate, car ownership, savings accounts, retirement accounts, parenting time, spousal and or child support, it's best to get an attorney to represent all your interests. Even if you think you know everything there is to know, it's still advisable to meet at least one time with an attorney for an initial consultation to go over everything. OUR DIVORCE IS AMICABLE. WHY CAN'T WE COME IN TOGETHER? No matter how amicable the divorce, an attorney may only represent one party. I'M NERVOUS ABOUT CALLING AND GETTING STARTED. WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT? Friendly and professional assistance We are here to help you collect yourself and start the process. We will have some questions to ask you so that we know it's appropriate for the attorney to see you. Our staff will explain the process to you and get you scheduled. If we can't see you for any reason, we may refer you elsewhere. |
