We have answers!
" I know my soon to-be ex! This is an amicable divorce. Why do I need an attorney? S/he would never cheat me! "
WHY DO YOU CHARGE FOR AN INITIAL CONSULTATION?
Our flat rate of $375 for an average 1.5 hour appointment entitles you to valuable advice from an experienced attorney.
WHY SHOULD I HIRE AN ATTORNEY? | CAN'T WE JUST DO THE DIVORCE OURSELVES?
While you can do a divorce between yourselves, both parties risk losing much that may be rightfully theirs.
Unless you know exactly what you're entitled to in a divorce, including real estate, car ownership, savings accounts, retirement accounts, parenting time, spousal and or child support, it's best to get an attorney to represent all your interests. Even if you think you know everything there is to know, it's still advisable to meet at least one time with an attorney during whats called an initial consultation to go over everything.
OUR DIVORCE IS AMICABLE. | WHY CAN'T WE COME IN TOGETHER?
No matter how amicable the divorce, an attorney may only represent one party.
I'M NERVOUS ABOUT CALLING AND GETTING STARTED. WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
Friendly and professional assistance
We are here to help you collect yourself and start the process. We will have some questions to ask you so that we know it's appropriate for the attorney to see you. Our staff will explain the process to you and get you scheduled. If we can't see you for any reason, we may refer you elsewhere.
Don't worry! We understand!
At the initial consultation you will discuss your situation with an attorney and the attorney will will advise you as to your options. You will also receive an Attorney Fee Estimate indicating, within a range, about how much your case will cost. Both you and the attorney will get a sense of whether the fit is a good one and while it's possible that you may be inclined to sign a retainer agreement and pay a minimum retainer right away, most people usually want to go home and think things over.
